Submission on Lotteries & Art Unions Act 1901 (NSW)

12 October 2016
NOT-FOR-PROFIT LAW HAS MADE A SUBMISSION TO THE LOTTERIES AND ART UNIONS ACT 1901 (NSW) DISCUSSION PAPER

In September 2016 Not-for-profit Law made a submission to Liquor & Gaming NSW’s Review of the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901: Discussion paper on the review of the Act.

In our submission, we applauded the NSW Government’s review of the Act and commitment to simplification and modernisation of the existing regime in NSW that regulates community gaming, lotteries and trade promotions by not-for-profit organisations.

However, we also called on the Government to go one step further and move towards a uniform Australia-wide regulatory regime to make it easier for not-for-profit organisations to conduct community gaming, lotteries and trade promotions activities, wherever they occur in Australia.
